People seek information to help them understand and manage their personal finances, including earning, spending, borrowing, saving, and investing money. Information may be scenario-specific, such as buying a house, or audience-specific, such as different ages or special populations such as veterans or the elderly. In addition to information resources, many libraries also provide financial literacy programming, often partnering with outside organizations. Standards for financial literacy education have been produced by various government and non-profit organizations, and RUSA has published guidelines and best practices.
