Region-specific business conferences and groups
- ABLD: Academic Business Library DirectorsProvides a forum for directors of academic business libraries in North America to discuss mutual concerns and share information. Annual meetings at varying dates and locations.
- Beyond The NumbersThe Research Division of the St. Louis Fed hosts a free in-person conference to address the challenges of economic information with the aim to help librarians and other information professionals to disseminate economic information expertise to their respective audiences.
- BLINC: Business Librarianship in North CarolinaA community of public, academic, and special librarians in North Carolina holding free workshops open to all, at varying locations including occasionally online.
- CABAL: Capital Area Business Academic LibrariansProvides academic librarians in the Washington, D.C. geographic area with opportunities to collaborate on, learn about, and share business discipline focused resources and services. Quarterly meetings, both in-person and online.
- EntreLib: Entrepreneurship and LibrariesFree, online workshops and pitch competitions on how libraries and librarians support entrepreneurship in their communities and campuses.
- Midwest Business Librarian SummitAn annual in-person event with limited attendance to gather together academic, corporate, and public business librarians to discuss outreach, instruction, resources, and all things business librarian.
- SOUCABL: Southern Academic Business Librarians ConferencePronounced "sociable." An in-person opportunity for librarians to discuss business librarianship and to network with other librarians in the region. Attendance limited.
Participants are invited from 14 states and the District of Columbia including: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
U.S. Conferences with some Business Librarianship content
These conferences focus on broader areas of librarianship, but tend to have a selection of sessions of interest to the business library community:
- ACRL: Association of College and Research LibrariesACRL is a division of the American Library Association. Held every odd year, the conference offers in-person, online, and hybrid events.
- American Library AssociationBRASS typically has an in-person program at this annual conference, along with meetings and social gatherings.
- Charleston ConferenceAn informal annual gathering of librarians, publishers, electronic resource managers, consultants, and vendors of library materials in Charleston, SC, in November, to discuss issues of importance to them all.
- Public Library AssociationPLA is a division of the American Library Association. This conference is offered in even years, in person.
- Special Library AssociationAn annual in-person conference.
